Make Sure the Thermostat Works Properly

The thermostat is important for your HVAC system in your home. You will want to make sure the temperature set and the actual temperature are the same. If not, this will indicate an issue with the thermostat in your home. If you have it too close to a window, it can result in a false reading for the thermostat. Also make sure it is away from fans, vents, registers, etc. This way the breeze or temperature will not affect the thermostat. When it does not read correctly, then the system operates longer and harder. This will result in poor efficiency.

If your thermostat is acting odd, it might be because it’s dirty. Dirt and dust can also cause damage to the thermostat if it is not cleaned or maintained. The thermostat should also be maintained and inspected on a regular basis to help ensure it is working properly in your home. You will want to have it inspected by us to ensure all the parts and components are working correctly with one another. We can also advise you on when the proper schedule for your HVAC system should be done as well.

If you notice anything out of the norm with the thermostat and your HVAC system, make sure to contact us so we can inspect the system for you.
