April is the time of the year where you may start to open up windows again to let fresh air in. As you do so, you may start to notice allergies increasing as well. You will want to make sure that your home has the best air quality possible. This is especially important if you or a family member has allergies and asthma. If you are not sure, always make sure to contact us. We can come and inspect the HVAC system for your home. This can include the unit itself, as well as various parts like the ductwork and thermostat.

Fresh Air in April will allow windows to be open

Over time the ductwork will get a build-up of dirt and dust. This can cause a clog to happen in there. You will want to make sure that the ductwork is inspected regularly. Based on your home and lifestyle, we may need to clean it out yearly or every couple of years. Having a clogged ductwork system will only make the HVAC unit work harder at pushing the air through it. This can also cause the dirt and dust to be recycled back into the air of your home. At the same time, we can check the ductwork for any cracks or puncture marks. With damage to it, the air could be escaping, before it reaches the rooms of your home. You may notice this by also seeing an increase in monthly energy costs.

Check the thermostat as well. You will want to make sure the set temperature is near the actual temperature. If there is a difference, then the thermostat may be broke. Make sure that it is not placed by a vent, window, or direct line of the sun. This could also cause the thermostat to have a false reading in the long run as well. No matter what questions you have, always make sure to call us so we can make sure the HVAC system is running properly for you.
