When you want to keep the furnace working efficiently, make sure it is properly maintained. If you ignore regular maintenance, you will increase the chance of furnace failure. Contact us and we will schedule a time we can inspect the full HVAC and furnace system. Having all the parts checked will help ensure they are in the best condition possible. It will also help to confirm they are working as they should be. If you ever notice something odd with the system, or not heating correctly, contact us. The issue will not get better without proper repair. The last thing you want this winter is for the furnace to go out on a cold day.

The ductwork should also be inspected and cleaned. When the ductwork is full of dirt, dust, and other particles, it can affect how it operates. Over time insects, rodents, dust, and even pet dander can collect in the ductwork. If it is not cleaned out properly, the heat will not be able to pass through the ductwork efficiently. This will produce less heat coming out of the vents of your home as well. If you can see dirt and debris in the ductwork through the vents, chances are it is even worth the further the ductwork goes. Having it cleaned is also a great time to have it inspected for any damage. If there are cracks, punctures, or holes in the ductwork, the heat can leak out of there. This causes the furnace to work harder than it should.

Remember to change the filter regularly. This helps remove particles from the air. It will then reduce them from going through the furnace system, and back into the air of your home again. If you are not sure when the filter should be cleaned, we can recommend when it should be done.
