You will want your home to be as cool and comfortable as possible this summer. Checking the air conditioner for the efficiency is important, but also remember to check the air quality in your home. Typically, the air will be more polluted indoors because there is poor ventilation. This allows the pollutants and contaminants to be cycled through the system constantly.

If you or a family member is experiencing symptoms of asthma or allergies, the air quality could be to blame. Make sure to contact us and we can inspect the air in your home and recommend an air purifier or dehumidifier. Both of these are able to increase the air quality in your home, making it easier to breathe and live in.

Also remember to change the filter on your air conditioner regularly. All central heating and cooling systems should have an air filter, but the filter can be harder to locate on some HVAC units than others. The air filter is usually located in the return air duct or blower compartment before the return air reaches the air handler. This allows the filter to clean the air coming from your house before it enters the unit. If you are not sure how often to check the filter, make sure to contact us and we can advise you on the correct schedule.
